Subject: December 29: The last full day in South Island: Back across the country to my most familiar city in New Zealand again
Date Sent: Sun, January 3, 2010 4:10:11 PM

G'day,

Today would be my last full day in South Island before I would have to say "e noho ra" to it on the 30th! I started driving from Greymouth considering the possibility of doing that "circular route" that I had avoided yesterday. I had a couple of options to get back to Christchurch -- via Hwy 73/Arthur's Pass (which I had already seen a few days earlier on Priya's last day) or via Hwy 7 which was all new and also enabled that circle route -- so I picked Hwy 7. It was nice but not as nice as 73... There were a couple of viewpoints where I stopped there for pictures... but nothing spectacular. I also wanted to get to Christchurch and SLEEP since I hadn't gotten much sleep the previous night and again was feeling a little headachy/sick. So that was it.... Greymouth - Christchurch and relaxing the rest of the day :-)

Still saw a couple of interesting roadside attractions along the way in front of someone's private home :)
